Vietnam Crossing Country from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi 14 days

We will pick you up from the airport and take you back to the hotel. At night, we will have a welcome dinner together. Your team will meet the crew that will accompany you on the trip.

Our first day starts with a pick-up at your hotel. We’ll help you put on your safety gear while we load your luggage onto the back of our motorbike. Then, we’ll start our journey through the bustling streets of Hanoi before heading into the countryside. Our route takes us to the remote Pu Luong, the homeland of the Thai Ethnic Minority Group.

We start our adventure by following the scenic Ma River. The winding banks of the river will lead us to the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail, an iconic route of historical and cultural significance. After lunch, we hit the road to Con Cuong, where we’ll stay overnight.

As we bid farewell to our gracious hosts in Con Cuong, we will continue our journey to the peaceful Sen Village, which is the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh. In the afternoon, we’ll head towards the isolated landscapes, where the scenery is dominated by impressive karst limestone rock formations. The view is simply stunning, and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to a different world. Our final destination for the day is the UNESCO World Heritage listed Phong Nha National Park. Relax and unwind after a long day of riding.

Enjoy a leisurely day exploring the natural wonders of Phong Nha National Park and its surrounding areas. Embark on an unforgettable boat ride to discover the stunning Phong Nha Cave and Dark Cave. Admire the surreal beauty of the caverns as you float the crystal-clear water. Step into the mystical Dark Cave, where you can experience thrilling activities such as zip-lining and kayaking.

After a rejuvenated day in Phong Nha, we embark on a the route through the dense, unspoiled jungles along the western side of the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail. This epic adventure takes us through several significant locations where North Vietnam’s soldiers and trucks crossed into Laos during the Vietnam War. Our destination for the day is Khe Sanh, which was the site of a former U.S Marine base and the location of the famous siege that preceded the Tet offensive in 1978.

Before we descend towards the coast, we stop at some significant locations along the way such as the Khe Sanh Combat Base and Ta Con Airfield, where we learn more about the brutal battle that took place here during the Vietnam War. Located on the banks of the picturesque Perfume River, the Imperial City of Hue was once the capital of Vietnam. As we ride along the peaceful flat country roads, we can feel the weight of history and resilience of Vietnamese people. We check into our hotel before sunset and spend the evening exploring this charming city on foot.

Start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading south and climb up the Hai Van Pass. At the top, we’ll take a break and witness the spectacular views of cloud-shrouded skies. The descent is equally thrilling as we wind our way down the other side of the pass. We’ll finish our day by cruising into the center of Hoi An in the late afternoon and find out why the old town has the name.

Today we will spend our own time exploring small beautiful Hoi An town. We suggest this day is an easy walk along beautiful ancient streets trying some local street food and enjoying coffee at a lovely, tranquil cafe shop.

This day is a bit of a bumpy section of Highway 14 toward Kon Tum - a province on Central Highland of Vietnam - that is the home of many ethnics with unique culture feature. On the way, you may meet many man-made lakes for hydroelectric plants, rubber trees, cashew, and black pepper plants. We also pass one of the key point where three cultures and countries intersect. The stone monument at the T-junction marks the spot where the borders of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia meet. We’ll spend the night at Kontum Hotel and have delicious meals.

We continue riding to Buon Ma Thuot through the cloudy city of Pleiku, where we won’t be able to ignore the “Eyes of Pleiku” - Ho Day. Then we continue on the intrepid off-road to Ham Ring mountain, which is the roof of Pleiku and features a long-dormant volcano and a magnificent landscape of bright flowers and verdant pine trees. As the day comes to an end, we arrive in Buon Ma Thuot and proceed to check in at a hotel.

In the morning, we enjoy the best coffee in Vietnam at the Buon Ma Thuot city. We then make our way along the Phoenix pass (massively affected by Agent Orange during the war). We skirt along the coastal road to reach to Vinh Long where you get some great photos of the fishermen’s daily life and the colorful boats anchoring in the port before arrive in Nha Trang. We’ll relax at a beach view hotel before sampling the local delicacies.

The route from Da Lat to Nha Trang will take you through the most breathtaking roads in Vietnam, where brilliant natural scenery blends between a sea of flowers and a charming coastline. Dalat’s golden era is sometimes described as a miniature Paris, complete with architecture, culture, religion, and citizens who all exude the spirit of France. We’ll stroll to the Da Lat night market to buy food and souvernirs in the evening.

Motorcycle down on road 20, we ride to Cat Tien National Park. This forest area used to be the headquarter of Vietnamese army during the war. The park suffered historically during the Vietnam War when it was extensively sprayed with herbicides like the defoliant Agent Orange. To this day these areas have extensive bamboo and grassland cover and trees have not yet grown back.

And our last shortstop will be Ho Chi Minh City. Leaving the jungle behind, we will go onto the forest trail, catch the ferry, and enter the city center. Free time or explore the city with its best highlights before getting reading for the flight back to your home country or your next destination.
